Classes: Summer classes are
held in an outdoor, covered arena. Please dress appropriate for the weather. Bring your dog to the first class on a
standard 4-6 foot leather or cloth leash, and collar. Also bring soft treats cut into tiny pieces
and a water bowl.
DOG SHOWING
101
Have you
watched a dog show and wondered what showing would be like (think
Westminster)? This class will teach you
the basics including presentation, gaiting, and handling techniques. Cheryl Siler, your instructor, has earned
many wins and titles with a variety of breeds in major competitions.
Thursdays, 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

OBEDIENCE CLASSES
GOOD DOG 101 – Open to dogs 8 weeks and older. This class will cover the basic commands such
as come, sit, down, stay, as well as common behavior problems like jumping, nipping
and biting, darting out doors, etc.
Sept. 7
to Oct. 5, 2010, 5 wks, $65
NOVICE – Open to dogs
with basic obedience skills. Whether you
want to compete in AKC obedience or fine tune the cues your dog knows, this
class is for you. Instructor Nita
Gandera has competed in all levels of obedience with various breeds.
Mondays, 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. 5 wks, $65
Aug. 23 to Sept. 27 (no class 9-6)
AKC RALLY – Level 1 (6 weeks, $65)
Dogs should know
“sit, down, stay” and be able to walk on lead.
Rally
was designed with the pet owner in mind.
Unlike formal obedience, in Rally you move at your own pace, and may
praise and encourage your dog while on course.
You will learn approximately 15-20 exercises that provide skills which
will be useful at home, public places and in the presence of other dogs.

Agility is a sport where you teach your dogs
to run over objects, weave through poles, go through tunnels, etc. In addition to being fun it also teaches your
dog to focus on you and do what you ask.
BEGINNERS – Dogs must already know the cues “come, sit,
down, stay.” Dogs will learn confidence
as you learn basic handling skills and how to teach your dog to perform
obstacles. All breeds and all ages above
6 months are welcome.
Fridays, 6:15 to 7:15 p.m., 5 wks, $65

ADVANCED BEGINNERS - For dogs that can
perform most of the obstacles but still need help with consistency in
performing weavepoles, teeter, contacts, etc.
Students will learn additional handling skills such as front crosses,
rear crosses, etc.
Saturdays, 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m.
Oct. 2 to Oct. 30, 2010, 5 wks, $65
INTERMEDIATE – For dogs that are comfortable on the equipment and
handlers who are ready to do longer sequences.
Students will learn to determine the most efficient path for their dog, solid
contacts, start-line stays, and solid weavepoles.
Saturdays, 9:15 a.m. to 10:15:00 a.m.
Oct. 2 to
Oct. 30, 2010, 5 wks, $65
ADVANCED – For handlers and dogs competing
or ready to compete. You will learn more
complex handler moves to better communicate with your dog. You will be refining your skills for better
accuracy and determining when to use the various styles of handling.

DOCK
DIVING (Class
limited to 6 dogs)
Students should bring small treats, cloth leash,
water and water bowl, and a floatable toy.
Wear clothing that you won’t mind getting wet.
Does
your dog love to jump, or love swimming?
Dock diving is a relatively new sport where dogs jump off a dock into a
pool. Categories of dock diving are a)
distance covered in air; b) height jumped, and c) fastest retrieving an object.
DOCK DIVING BEGINNERS – Dogs will get accustomed to jumping into the
water, retrieving a toy, swimming, and exiting the pool. Students will learn how to control their toss
for the best results.
